How UKISS Hugware™️ can be your survival kit for the Metaverse?

A few weeks ago, advertising giant Facebook made headlines when they changed their name to Meta. The internet was abuzz with criticisms, with people commenting that the new logo was an eyesore. Others went about theorising why the company had changed their name, especially since it was immediately recognisable.

These were soon silenced, however, by the announcement of the Metaverse. Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, went so far as to claim that it would be “the successor to the mobile Internet.”

Cue more chaos.

Amidst all the pandemonium on the internet, from the endless articles and news coverage, we’re here to give you the Cliff Notes version.  We’ll be going over everything you need to know about the Metaverse – what it is, why it’s been so popular lately and whether it’ll be the future of the internet.

Start from the beginning: What is the Metaverse?

The Metaverse refers to virtual reality and augmented reality combined to make a virtual world, which will run parallel to the real one. An excellent example of the Metaverse would be your typical Zoom call with a co-worker. You’re not physically together, but you’re both “present” in the form of a live video or a static image.

When it arrives, the Metaverse will undoubtedly spill into every facet of our lives, from work to entertainment and leisure.

It’s already proven its ability to improve productivity in the workplace. Imagine this: You need to multitask between 2 monitors for work, but you often find it difficult to do so. Applications are left running on the other monitor, you’re constantly hunting for your mouse… it’s not exactly a seamless experience. Now, imagine using a virtual reality headset to see multiple monitors at once. You won’t have to keep looking back and forth between each monitor, and your workspace will have far fewer cables.

It’s not a stretch to say that it won’t be long before wearing a VR headset becomes part of your everyday carry, like a pair of sunglasses.

How long would it take to become mainstream?

The building blocks are already in place. Most parts of the world already have blazing fast internet speeds, virtual reality headsets, and with 5G becoming increasingly prominent, the future couldn’t be nearer.

Here are a few examples of companies that are likely to form the Metaverse:

  1. Meta.

Formerly known as Facebook, Meta has made sizeable investments in the arena of virtual reality, the most noteworthy being their acquisition of Oculus, a virtual reality company. Mark Zuckerberg is insistent on a future where the metaverse could replace the internet we know and love today, with a virtual world where digital avatars network with one another for work and entertainment.

  1. Microsoft.

Microsoft’s interest in the virtual space is well-documented, with their use of holograms and mixed and extended reality (XR) applications coming to their video conferencing app Microsoft Teams in 2022. In fact, they’re actively working with the U.S. Army to develop a headset for soldiers to train and fight with.

  1. Roblox.

Roblox used to be a gaming site where teens could network with their friends and play user-generated games. After going public in 2021, they’re now worth over $45 billion. With Roblox’s heavy use of 3D rendering and heavy emphasis on virtual reality, it’s a no-brainer that the company will be highly successful when the Metaverse becomes a full-fledged reality. They’ve also recently partnered with Vans to create a virtual skateboarding park where players can dress their avatars in Vans merchandise.

How UKISS Hugware can help

Let’s be clear on one thing: The Metaverse is coming, whether you like it or not. Soon, NFTs will be gaining more headlines, since they’re the primary way we’ll be able to purchase and own digital assets.

With some debating if crypto will become the currency of the future (read our article on that here), you’ll need a secure place to store all these electronic securities. There’s no shortage of alternatives on the market, but you should only be looking at the best when it comes to safeguarding your assets.

UKISS Hugware™ is a hardware wallet like no other. Unlike other hardware wallets, it can keep more than your coins and digital assets safe – anything from personal data to sensitive documents can be stored too.

Here’s why UKISS Hugware deserves a spot in your pocket:

  • It redefines security. With advanced security protocols to guard against theft, there’s no better hardware wallet for your money. UKISS Hugware™ is registered on blockchain and features a Certificate of Authenticity upon initialisation, so you know your assets are safe on it.
  • All the encryption benefits, without your intervention. It really is that simple. Crypto owners often get so worked up over security – and rightly so. We believe that you shouldn’t have to worry about the security of your device all the time, so we’ve simplified the process on your end. You just need to plug and play – leave the complex encryption to us.
